Dumbarton Bridge links Palo Alto, East Palo Alto, and Menlo Park on the mid-Peninsula with Newark, Union City, and Fremont in the East Bay.

The current base toll is $5, charged in the westbound direction. Carpool vehicles with 2 or more persons can cross the bridge for $2.50 on weekdays between 5am - 10am and 3pm - 6pm.

Dumbarton Bridge has a bicycle/pedestrian trail on the south side of the bridge.

Alternatives

  • VTA express bus route 181 links Fremont and San Jose. VTA routes 22 and Caltrain provide service between San Jose and Palo Alto.
